Back to the Grind (Truly)
So it turns out that I couldn’t really get anything done over the holidays, or since. Maybe this was foreseeable. However, today I finally sat down in my little closet/office and actually wrote words.
Like, Words. (*Angels sing.*)
Hopefully this marks the beginning of a pattern. I want to be able to write a little bit every day in my “free” time, and do less of the stuff that I’ve started doing, like watching three full episodes of Forged in Fire in one sitting. (Seriously though, bladesmithing is badass.)
That’s actually one of Stephen King’s main points in his introduction to On Writing. He says something like this: To be a great writer, you have to do a lot of two things, reading and writing. He then goes on to say that you should pretty much stop watching T.V. Until I read that, I never realized how much T.V. I actually watch. Netflix is a godsend to some, and the devil in disguise for the rest of us. Anyway, the bottom line is that I’m gonna watch less T.V. Am I giving T.V. up completely? Absolutely not. When Game of Thrones comes back on I’ll be watching every Sunday night along with everyone else.
Less T.V. for Sal = more reading and writing for Sal.
