Progress and Not Writing
Here’s an update on my progress towards draft III of Deathless. Since I finished my reread of Draft II, I’ve been slowly making the corrections and improvements that I think the book needs.
A little insider information that some of you might find interesting: Since I found that the majority of the book (everything except the beginning) only needs minor changes, I prefer to make those changes in reverse order. By starting from the back, it keeps everything in the same place on the same page as I move toward the beginning. The only time I wouldn’t do this is with large changes or total rewrites, but all of those will be at the beginning anyway, so I’ll work my way there. Am I just putting off the harder work? Maybe.
I’ve also been doing some other stuff that’s not writing. I went skiing for the first time in my life this past week, and had a ton of fun. That trip did take away from writing time though. Here’s a cool picture from the highest peak at the resort:
I was hoping to get some more pictures, but I didn’t want to risk skiing with my camera, so the cell phone shot will have to do.
14 more days until my self-assigned deadline for Draft III. It’s still in reach, as long as I don’t ski any more!
That is all.
